Reel Crafts, the new craft-friendly film series from Circle Cinema and Community Craft, continues monthly! We’ll keep the lights half-raised during the film and guests are encouraged to enjoy a personal craft project to work on during the film. Community Craft will be in the lobby with some craft kits on sale before the film, or you can bring your own quiet craft project like knitting, coloring, beadwork, and more. Then at 7pm, Community Craft’s Mary Make & Do will introduce this special screening of the beloved 1992 comedy that taught us all there's no crying in baseball!
Community Craft is a collective of craft-loving nerds who live and breathe all things handmade, located in Kendall Whittier just around the corner from Circle at 2306 E. Admiral Blvd. They offer classes and private lessons, new, vintage and second hand craft supplies and books, along with beautiful locally made gifts and useful items. Crafters of all skill levels are welcome to enjoy friendly instruction in their sunny space. Visit soon and join in on the magic that happens when we gather to create. About the film: 2h8min - Comedy, Drama, Sports - Rated PG - English
As America's stock of athletic young men is depleted during World War II, a professional all-female baseball league springs up in the Midwest, funded by publicity-hungry candy maker Walter Harvey (Garry Marshall). Competitive sisters Dottie Hinson (Geena Davis) and Kit Keller (Lori Petty) spar with each other, scout Ernie Capadino (Jon Lovitz) and grumpy has-been coach Jimmy Dugan (Tom Hanks) on their way to fame. Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell co-star as two of the sisters' teammates.
