Join us for a jewelry making workshop with Muscogee/Seminole artist Amanda Rutland! We will be making stamped copper earrings in this make-and-take class, and all materials will be provided.
✨ What to Expect:
- Instruction and support to create your own custom stamped copper earrings
- Cultural context and conversation around traditional metalwork
- Guidance from an award-winning artist specializing in Southeastern design and metal work, inspired by Mississippian culture and the natural world 🌿
- A welcoming, hands-on learning space
Amanda Rutland, a citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and of Seminole Nation descent, is a member of the Raccoon Clan with a deep connection to her tribal heritage. Growing up attending traditional Muscogee churches, Amanda's artistic journey with a degree in Visual Communication from Oklahoma State University's Institute of Technology. While formally trained as a photographer/videographer, she has evolved into a self-taught artist, specializing in copper and gemstone jewelry that embodies the spirit of her Mound-builder ancestors and the natural world.
