Beginner Drawing: 4 Week Adult Class at Studio Sienna

OverviewThis four-week course introduces the fundamentals of drawing in a relaxed, small-group setting. You’ll learn how to see like an artist—breaking objects into simple shapes, building depth through shading, arranging strong compositions, and exploring new techniques.

What you’ll learn

• Form & Structure: Break down objects into basic volumes and get proportions right.
• Light & Value: Use shading to create depth and realism.
• Composition: Arrange elements for balance, focus, and impact.
• Techniques: Explore line quality, mark-making, and drawing tools.

Weekly Focus

• Week 1: Shape & structure basics
• Week 2: Shading and rendering form
• Week 3: Composition and design principles
• Week 4: Final drawing project with feedback

• 4 sessions, once a week at Studio Sienna
• Small class size (10 seats), with individual guidance
• Each session includes short demos, hands-on practice, and feedback

Materials

• 9"×12" drawing pad (smooth surface)
• Sketchbook
• 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 5B, 6B pencils (or graphite set)
• Kneaded + vinyl erasers, sharpener(Limited studio sets available to borrow)
