Short Springs Hiking Trip

Short Springs State Natural Area preserves 420 forested acres northeast of Tullahoma, where Highland Rim meets Central Basin geology. Dramatic ravines, low cascades, springs, and the 60-foot Machine Falls enrich the landscape. The area supports diverse forest types, from dry oak-hickory slopes to rich riparian groves of sycamore, magnolia, beech, and tulip poplar. Lush spring wildflowers carpet moist hillsides with trout lilies, Virginia bluebells, trilliums, and endangered species like Nestronia and broad-leafed bunchflower.

These are our trails and waterfalls for our event. Bring plenty of water & snacks.

Machine Falls, Adams Falls, Busby Falls and Laurel Bluff Loop: Around 3.1 miles.
