Location: SARRC’s New Tucson Office

Why is a Developmental Screening Important?
Early identification of developmental delays allows families to access support and resources when they matter most. Screenings can offer peace of mind and provide a clear path forward if further evaluation or intervention is needed.
Who Should Attend:
A screening is recommended for parent(s)/caregiver(s) with children up to 13 years old who have concerns about their child’s development; observe that they are not achieving milestones that other children are; or notice behaviors that seem out of the ordinary.
How the Screening Program Works:
- The screening will take approximately 15 minutes, depending on the child's age and responses provided
- Parent(s)/caregiver(s) will consult with an experienced SARRC staff member
- A SARRC team member will use a standardized and valid procedure to assess whether a formal evaluation is recommended
- Please note that developmental screenings are not autism evaluations. However, based on responses and eligibility, a developmental evaluation by a licensed professional may be offered at no cost at a later date.
