In The Librarians, which world premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, filmmaker Snyder introduces us to everyday heroes and takes us to this unexpected front line, where a group of librarians dubbed the FReadom Fighters put their careers and their lives at risk to resist book bans in states like Texas and Florida. Determined to keep stories about all identities and communities on their shelves, the librarians emerge as first responders in the fight for democracy, free access to information, and our First Amendment rights, all while reiterating the power of collective, community-driven action.
