Written and Composed by JASON ROBERT BROWN
THE LAST FIVE YEARS is a deeply personal and emotionally powerful musical journey through the relationship of Jamie, a rising novelist, and Cathy, a struggling actress. Told through an innovative structure—his story moving forward in time, hers moving backward—the show offers a stunning exploration of love, ambition, and heartbreak.
In this intimate new production, real-life best friends and longtime artistic collaborators Tyler Wright and Dani Wright bring a unique authenticity and chemistry to these iconic roles. Their performance breathes new life into Brown’s beloved score, drawing audiences into the highs and lows of a marriage lived in reverse.
Presented in the elegant cabaret space of the Temple of Music and Art, this stripped-down, emotionally raw interpretation places the storytelling and music front and center—revealing the joy, sorrow, and truth of what it means to love and to let go.
PG-13: This production contains brief strong language, including some vulgar words, which may not be suitable for younger audiences.
THE LAST FIVE YEARS is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com
