On Sunday, September 14 from 4-6pm, we invite you to ease into the week and celebrate the changing of the seasons with a glass of wine, awe-inspiring art to view and create, and the chance to reflect and reconnect. Serving as both the closing reception for the indoor Tucson J Fine Art Gallery sculpture show and a welcome to new temporary and permanent pieces in the Jill Rosenzweig Memorial Sculpture Garden, Sculpt: Sculpting the Season blends the spirit of a seasonal ritual with the energy of an art reception.
Wander through the Garden at your own pace, guided by reflective prompts and poetic quotes; listen to live music from Leila Lopez and Rebecca Foreman, enjoy wine pairings and a delicious charcuterie spread from Humbleboard; and hear from featured artists not just about what they created, but why.
This event honors the spirit of Elul, the Jewish month of introspection and return marked by the holiday of Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year), through a relaxed evening of sculpture, inspiration, and community. Just as Elul invites us to reshape ourselves through teshuvah (return and renewal), sculpture reveals what's possible when we carve, mold, or uncover something new from what already exists.
Slow down. Take in the textures. Create something. Sculpt is an invitation to begin again.
