Modern Law Pro Bono Day gives members of our community the chance to sit down one-on-one with experienced family law attorneys — at no cost — for a private 30-minute consultation. Whether you’re just starting to think about legal options or need clarity on next steps, our team is here to help.

We know legal challenges — especially in family law — can feel overwhelming. That’s why Modern Law has committed thousands of dollars in free legal help and hundreds of attorney hours toward this program, assisting hundreds of Arizonans through divorce, custody, support, and other family law matters.

We review each request to ensure Pro Bono Day is a good fit for your needs.

3. Schedule your appointment.
If approved, you’ll receive an email with scheduling access about one week before the event.

Yes. Pro Bono Day offers free 30-minute consultations with a Modern Law family law attorney. There is no cost to attend if you are approved and scheduled.

This event is intended for individuals in Arizona who need guidance on a family law matter and have not previously participated in a Modern Law Pro Bono Day.

Our attorneys can help with general guidance on:

• Divorce and legal separation
• Child custody and parenting time
• Child support and spousal maintenance
• Family law rights, options, and next steps

Please note: This is a consultation only. Attorneys cannot represent you in court or draft documents during the session.

After registering, you’ll be asked to complete a brief screening form. If approved, you’ll receive an email approximately one week before the event with instructions to schedule your 30-minute appointment.

No. Advance registration is required, and appointments are limited. Walk-ins cannot be accommodated.

Consultations take place in person at Modern Law’s Mesa and Peoria offices. Your confirmation email will include your assigned location.

Yes. Feel free to bring any relevant paperwork (court orders, petitions, agreements, etc.), but please understand the attorney may not have time to review lengthy documents in full during the consultation.

Participation in Pro Bono Day does not create an attorney-client relationship beyond the consultation. If you’d like to discuss representation, the attorney can explain your options and next steps.

If something comes up, please cancel as soon as possible so another person can use the appointment slot.

Yes. All consultations are private and confidential, just like any other attorney meeting.

Pro Bono Day is offered periodically and fills quickly. If you’re interested, we encourage you to register early.
