DIASPORA SHOWCASE AFRICA "Drummers & Dancers"

Diaspora Showcase Africa, "Drummers and Dancers", directed and produced by Kwevi Quaye features an all-star cast of fashion designers, musical acts, dance performances and culinary art. Starting with award-winning and VOGUE featured designers: Ghanaian designer Kwame Koranteng and Surinamese designer Elsa Hardjopawiro, who are fresh from presenting at the Spring London Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week. These designers will be joined by veteran Nigerian designers Moshood and Maria K Adeeko with Togolese stylist and hats designer, Akouavi Slater. Tanzanian designer, Farouque Abdela who has appeared on CNN and Ethiopian designer, Mahlet Afework, both of whom will be showing their fashion collections for the first time at the show.

The music headliners include Karamo Susso, a Malian kora instrumentalist, Grammy-Award Percussionist, Munyungo Jackson, King Sunny Ade former "Talking Drum" drummer, Rasaki Aladokun from Nigeria and Master Griot Percussionist, Alioune Faye from Senegal with dancers, Armando Decoy Munoz, Nova and David.

A delicious African cuisine from Ethiopia, Eritrea, Egypt, Morocco, Ghana, Nigeria, Benin, Kenya and South Africa will be served at the show.
