When Burt, a 69-year-old street musician living with Parkinson’s, is unexpectedly visited by a young man claiming to be his son, a quiet weekend unravels into a tense and darkly funny exploration of identity, trust, and second chances. Lonely but hopeful, Burt seizes the opportunity to forge the kind of relationship he's longed for, inviting Sammy to stay in the modest home he shares with his gruff, no-nonsense landlord, Steve. As the weekend unfolds, awkward attempts at bonding give way to simmering tensions, buried secrets, and surprising moments of connection.
Inspired by the real life of singer-songwriter Burt Berger, the film blurs the line between fiction and reality with disarming authenticity. Laced with music and unexpected humor, Burt is a poignant story about fatherhood, forgiveness, and the fragile beauty of human connection.
