Dr Loveday Jenkin is a Cornwall Councillor, biochemist, Cornish language campaigner, and deputy leader of Mebyon Kernow - The party for Cornwall. She was barded in 1982 and made deputy grand bard of Gorsedh Kernow in 2024 for her services to Cornish culture & language.

Her mother, Ann Trevenen Jenkin, was the first ever female grand bard and a founding member of Mebyon Kernow in 1951.
