Hypermobility is when there is a greater than normal range of motion in the joints, often giving the illusion of ease and grace, but underneath, it can come with instability, pain, and exhaustion. While often misunderstood or misdiagnosed, hypermobility affects more yoga students than many people realize. Flexible bodies are naturally drawn to yoga and frequently praised for their range of motion, yet without the right support, these students may unintentionally push into patterns that increase discomfort or lead to injury. Understanding how to recognize and skillfully work with hypermobility is essential for creating a safer, more sustainable practice.
In this course, you will learn:
How to recognize the signs and symptoms of hypermobility
How it can impact both physical and emotional well-being.
The unique challenges hypermobile students face in yoga
Why conventional cues aren't one size fits all.
Smart, supportive modifications for common poses that prioritize joint stability, proprioception, and sustainable movement.
Tools to help you build strength & develop safer movement patterns
And more...
