Velkommen til Verdens Jul på Julemarkedet i Trondheim! Hver dag fra kl. 16:00–19:00 inviterer ti ulike land deg inn i sine høytidstradisjoner. Her får barn og familier oppleve kulturarv, historier og juleaktiviteter fra hele verden – formidlet gjennom lek, kreativitet og varme møter. Verdens Jul skaper et inkluderende rom hvor vi deler det som binder oss sammen i høytiden: fellesskap, nysgjerrighet, glede og magiske øyeblikk.
TYRKIA – 16.12. & 17.12.
Velkommen til Tyrkia-hjørnet i Lillelavvoen for et spennende Ebru-verksted! Ebru, eller papirmarmoreringskunst, er en metode for å male på vann og lage mønstre som ligner på glatt marmor. Denne teknikken brukes ofte som underlag for kalligrafi, spesielt til bokomslag og papir i bokbinding.
Barna samles rundt vannkaret for å skape fargerike mønstre som beveger seg fritt, og deretter løfter vi forsiktig papiret opp fra vannet slik at hele maleriet overføres – akkurat som mennesker vandrer gjennom livet. Barna får oppleve kunst og mangfold gjennom Ebru, se fargenes dans og samspill, og samtidig glede seg over å lage sine egne unike malerier. En kreativ og lærerik aktivitet for hele familien!

CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD – A CELEBRATION OF TRADITIONS FROM AROUND THE GLOBE
Welcome to Christmas Around the World at the Trondheim Christmas Market! Every day from 16:00–19:00, ten different countries invite you into their unique holiday traditions. Here, children and families can experience cultural heritage, stories, and Christmas activities from across the globe – shared through play, creativity, and warm encounters. Christmas Around the World creates an inclusive space where we celebrate what brings us together during the holiday season: community, curiosity, joy, and magical moments.
TURKEY – DECEMBER 16th & 17th
Welcome to the Turkey Corner in the Little Tent for an exciting Ebru workshop! Ebru, or paper marbling, is a technique of painting on water to create patterns that resemble smooth marble. This technique is often used as a base for calligraphy, particularly for book covers and paper in bookbinding.
Children gather around the water tray to create colorful patterns that move freely. They then carefully lift the paper from the water, transferring the entire design – just like people journey through life. Kids will experience art and diversity through Ebru, watch the colors dance and interact without interfering with each other, and enjoy the creative joy of making their own unique artworks. A creative and educational activity for the whole family!
