✨ Tromsø Guideforening presents the season’s first guide talk ✨
🐋 Arctic Whales - Whale watching in Tromsø: Science, Tourism & Conservation
with Samuel M. Llobet & Giulia Ercoletti
Join us for an inspiring evening dedicated to the whales visiting our fjords every winter. Samuel is a marine biologist specialized in acoustics and guide based in Tromsø. Giulia is a marine biologist and guide manager at BRIM explorer with broad experience in whale watching in Norway. They will take us on a journey into the world of Arctic cetaceans, their biology, behaviour, and the latest discoveries coming from interdisciplinary research.
We’ll also explore the powerful role tourism plays in shaping our relationship with whales and discuss the exciting potential of whale watching and guiding as a tool for research, education, and conservation.
After the talk, we’ll open the floor for questions, reflections, and discussion.
Feel free to stay, grab a drink, and continue the conversation with fellow guides, nature enthusiasts, and friends at Storgata Camping.
🎤 This event is offered by the Tromsø Guide Association (Tromsø Guideforening) to support guide training and knowledge-sharing but it is fully open to everyone. Bring your colleagues, friends, or anyone curious about the Arctic and its wildlife. We’d love to see you there!
