We welcome you to a conversation with the curators Silvia Colombo and Ana Victoria Bruno, who will talk about their curatorial practice and their on-going research in the Arctic.
Silvia Colombo (Milan, 1981)
Art historian and museum specialist, she holds a post-graduate degree in Cultural Heritage and a PhD in Preservation of Architectural Heritage from Politecnico di Milano, where she has also been a guest lecturer. After working as a research assistant at the University of Manchester, she moved to northern Sweden, where she remains active as a regional art consultant for Region Norrbotten. Her main research interests lie at the intersection of art and politics, memory, and museum studies. A freelance editor and art writer, she serves on the board committee of AICA Sweden and is a member of ICOM Sweden.
Ana Victoria Bruno (La Plata, Argentina, 1992)
Ana Victoria Bruno (she/they) is an Argentinian-Italian, Zurich-based freelance curator and writer. They graduated from the MFA Curating program at Goldsmiths University in 2022 and completed the CuratorLab program at Konstfack in Stockholm the following year. Ana's curatorial practice challenges Western and colonial ideas of time and space, through exploring the intersections between the human and non-human, the individual and the collective, the local and the global, with a particular focus on experiences that disrupt hegemonic binary perspectives.
Silvia and Ana Victoria are in Tromsø for a curatorial residency at the Fylkeskulturesenter - Kysten.
