🇮🇹  Un luogo iconico e nascosto nel cuore di Trieste si apre al pubblico con ZONA – Borderlines, un’installazione immersiva di suono e luce firmata dalle artiste Shametaj-Vendrame (Biennale di Architettura 2023, Padiglione Italia).

L’opera riattiva i cinquecento metri di gallerie sotterranee del bunker, oggi simile a una grotta carsica: un rifugio antiaereo, luogo difensivo e oscuro, come l’inconscio delle comunità che hanno abitato questa regione di confine.Questo scenario evocativo, ricco di fascino naturale, diventa un modo per ripercorrere la storia attraverso i canti popolari transfrontalieri, tornando a un rifugio civile tra gli echi delle guerre contemporanee per intraprendere un viaggio emozionale di speranza.

INFO SICUREZZA / ABBIGLIAMENTO
Per l’accesso al bunker è richiesto indossare delle scarpe chiuse e antiscivolo e una felpa, la temperatura del bunker è di 15 gradi con un’umidità del 90% e l’ambiente è bagnato. Si sconsiglia la visita a persone con forte disabilità motoria.

🇬🇧 An iconic and hidden location in the heart of Trieste opens to the public with ZONA – Borderlines, an immersive installation of sound and light by artists Shametaj-Vendrame (Venice Architecture Biennale 2023, Italian Pavilion).

The work reactivates five hundred meters of underground bunker tunnels, today resembling a karst cave: once an air-raid shelter, a defensive and shadowy place, like the unconscious of the communities that have inhabited this border region.
This evocative setting, rich in natural charm, becomes a way to retrace history through cross-border folk songs, returning to a civil refuge among the echoes of contemporary wars, and embarking on an emotional journey of hope.

SAFETY INFO / CLOTHING
To access the bunker, closed non-slip shoes and a sweater are required. The temperature inside is 15°C with 90% humidity, and the environment is damp.
The visit is not recommended for people with severe mobility impairments.
