Come join us at our 8th annual Spin, Dye, & Goats Workshop!
We are happy to announce open enrollment for our fun, friendly hands-on workshop held by Cody Roche (Mountain View Angora Goats) and Laura Spinner (Rainbow Twist Shop on Etsy).
Picture it... summer winding down... cooling weather with spectacular mountain views at Cody’s Angora goat ranch. We start with a casual meet 'n' greet (with goat play) and an amazing home-cooked dinner.
Saturday workshop highlights include how to dye your own fiber with microwave and pan dyeing techniques using many color "tricks" to personalize your work.
Sunday we hand spin our dyed fibers using many techniques such as Magic Thumb lock spinning, tailspinning, coil spinning, art yarn spinning, beehives, corespinning… you name it!
Cody will be teaching #codystyle Angora goat raising including shearing demo and washing mohair.
Enrollment is limited and we have many repeat attendees, so register soon!
DATE: Friday September 5th at 5 PM (Meet and Greet plus Dinner), Saturday & Sunday September 6 & 7th -usually ends around 3 PM on Sunday.
WORKSHOP FEE INCLUDES.... 5 Star meal Friday night, and morning coffee, lunch, snacks, and drinks during both days of the workshop... Cody's wife Connie will not let you go hungry… one pound of washed mohair from Cody’s goats… also a gift bag of lots of goodies! Best of all, fun and friends guaranteed!
COST OF WORKSHOP... $400 per person. Please contact Laura Spinner on Facebook Messenger with your email address for a PayPal invoice. Spots will be reserved upon payment in full... NO REFUNDS (unless we cancel the workshop due to an unforseen event) ~ you will need to find someone to fill your spot if unable to attend.
MATERIALS TO BRING... A working spinning wheel which can handle bulky yarns, and what ever you have such as batts or fleece or ply yarns to work with. If you can bring a drum carder, fantastic! Beginning spinners are welcome but must bring a working spinning wheel. There will be plenty of fiber available to purchase as well from Cody’s goats and Laura’s stash of Teeswater and Icelandic wool!
TRAVEL DETAILS.... Salt Lake City Airport is 70 miles south of the workshop. Hotels~ Western Inn and Hampton Inn 5 miles from the farm. There is limited space for camping on Cody's land, please contact him for details.
