David Baron is a prizewinning author, journalist, broadcaster, and public speaker who writes about astronomy and other sciences. His bestselling new book, The Martians: The True Story of an Alien Craze that Captured Turn-of-the-Century America, has been praised as “witty” (Los Angeles Times), “sparkling” (New York Times), and “a briskly written account of planetary intrigue and obsession” (Wall Street Journal). David’s previous books are The Beast in the Garden, which received the Colorado Book Award, and American Eclipse, which was honored with the American Institute of Physics book prize. A former science correspondent for NPR, David served as Chair in Astrobiology at the Library of Congress while writing The Martians. His popular TED Talk, about his passion for solar eclipses, has been viewed more than two million times. He lives in Boulder, Colorado.
