Tralee’s Bees need our Wetlands! Beacha Fiáin agus ár bhogaigh thabhachtachaí!
Tá fáilte róimh - you are welcome to come with us on an ecological corridor nature walk to see how important our town wetland areas are for bees, other insects and wildlife we share our spaces with.
Tralee has many wetland areas which are connected to the Tralee Bay Wetlands Ecology Park by our 3 rivers and ecological corridors. These include areas in The Green/Tralee Town Park. These wetlands are vital as they hold water, help prevent flooding and are homes to many pollinators, insects and wild plants and animals. They also are part of the natural systems that protect us against extreme weather and a changing climate.
We are delighted to be joined by members of Save the Green for this walk, who will share history of The Green/Tralee Town Park with us. We will also have members of the Tralee Bay Wetlands Ecology Park, Kerry Branch – Irish Wildlife Trust and Transition Kerry who will share knowledge about the important plants, habitats along the way.
Meeting point: The old bridge at the edge of the Tralee Bay Wetlands Ecology Park @ 2pm. Returning to the same spot by pm.
Programmes are available at Tralee Bay Wetlands Ecology park and at local libraries around the county.
Tá fáilte roimh gach duine. The events are all free of charge.
