The annual Baltimore Folk Music Society's ball is approaching! With the Winter Olympics coming up, we decided to make our ball Olympic Sized!
We will have the most excellent music of Handspring. A favorite in our area, this is a high-energy band with some great musicians with a wide repertoire that will warm our spirit with some gold-medal music.
Handspring is:
Carrie Rose - flute
Owen Morrison - guitar
Alexander Mitchell - fiddle, mandolin
Renowned favorite Gaye Fifer will call the figures. Gaye has a great repertoire of dances, from simple to challenging, to get your dancing to that next level. Her clear and concise explanations will have you hitting the triple axel with ease.
Celebrate the global spirit of dance and friendship! Dress to represent your "country", team, favorite sport, wear medals, carry a torch, etc. Wear a laurel wreath in the spirit of our Greek ancestors to celebrate the Olympics' origin! Call it elegant folk-athlete flair.
