1021 Dulaney Valley Road, Towson, United States
"Between death and" is an exploration of a funeral parlor in the heart of Baltimore City on the precipice of its own transition and a meditation on crossing boundaries – the liminal states embedded in life, death, and grief. 108 West North Avenue was built in 1878 along Boundary Avenue as it was known then – just beyond the northern border of the city at that time. It served the community as a funeral parlor from 1914 to 2021.
After the screening and Q&A will be featured with Lynn Silverman and Jason Sloan
About FrameWorks: A Monthly Film Screening Series at Goucher College
FrameWorks is a new interdisciplinary film screening initiative hosted by the Goucher Art Galleries. Designed as a monthly public program, the series engages students, faculty, artists, and the broader Baltimore community through curated films that explore the intersections of visual culture, identity, memory, politics, and place. By aligning each screening with current gallery exhibitions, FrameWorks will foster deeper dialogue and amplify the educational, aesthetic, and social reach of the galleries.
From experimental documentaries and artist films to regional storytelling and public domain classics, the series showcases cinematic works by emerging and established voices—especially those from the DMV region and historically underrepresented communities. Screenings will be followed by optional talks, panels, or informal discussions to encourage critical conversation and community connection.
