The event takes place at Torquay Assembly Rooms, next to the Town Hall, Castle Circus, Torquay on Friday 10 October from 9am to 12pm.
We are always on the look out for more Foster Carers in Torbay and in particular short breaks Foster Carers, which can potentially be fitted in around other work. But we also need all kinds of other Foster Carers so if you are thinking of coming to the Jobs Fair, have a chat with someone from our Fostering team.
We also need more local employers in the Bay to consider becoming Fostering Friendly.
Torbay Council became a Fostering Friendly employer in 2023, and this means that we:
- Actively support fostering and employees who are foster carers
- Provide a flexible working pattern for foster carers
- Allow a flexible working pattern for those going through the fostering application process
- Give a minimum of five days extra leave for those with fostering commitments

Torbay Jobs Fair is organised annually by the Council's Economy Team in partnership with Job Centre Plus, the popular event is free to attend and open to anyone looking for work, or for more information about local job opportunities.
With over 50 employers and skills providers set to attend this year, there will be hundreds of opportunities being showcased across different sectors and industries, ranging from health and care, construction, customer service, hospitality and retail.
