March First Day Hike

Join Compass Point, home of Dirty Girl Adventures, for a First Day Hike! Part of our year-long series of First Day Hikes, we will explore the trails starting at the historic Cedar Crest Mansion. We will take the time to notice all the nature around us as we hike the trails. When you hike with Dirty Girl Adventures, we accommodate different paces, marvel at the small details of nature, and connect with the group, creating new friendships along the way. Research shows us that time in nature with community is good for our whole health come with us to reap the benefits!

The Kansas Governor's Residence, also known as Cedar Crest, is the official residence of the governor of Kansas. Built in 1928 and bequeathed to the state in 1955, it became the governor's residence in 1962.

• Plan to join us Sunday, March1st at 2pm
• We will choose the distance on the day of the hike based on the weather conditions.
• Where: Check in at the Cedar Crest Parking Lot (specific directions will be emailed 24 hours before the event)
• What: Guided group hiking with information about the trails and the local flora and fauna.
• Bring/Wear: Watch the weather, dress in layers, gloves, hat, bandana, neck gator, trekking poles, shoes with good tread.

Registration, Benefits, and Safety

Your registration fee ensures a professionally organized and guided event by Dirty Girl Adventures, LLC. This includes a knowledgeable guide service with both a lead and sweep guide, comprehensive trail support (first aid, safety monitoring, pacing), and docent information about the environment and locale. We prioritize your safety by continuously monitoring weather and conditions.

Refund Policy

Full refunds are available if requested via email to @YWR2ZW50dXJlIHwgZGlydHlnaXJsYWR2ZW50dXJlcyAhIG5ldA== up to two weeks before the event. No refunds are provided after this two-week deadline. Dirty Girl Adventures reserves the right to cancel an event only in cases of severe weather or dangerous conditions, in which case all participants will receive a full refund. Note that we typically proceed with events in cool, rainy, or snowy conditions.
