There are more than 2,000 Bible verses that mention money. That’s a little more than 7% of the Bible verses. “Uh-oh! That means Pastor is going to talk about money this Sunday.” Yes, money will be mentioned as well as sins connected to money, possessions, and work.
But far more importantly, our lessons this week remind us that we have a far greater treasure than all the money in the world. Money and possessions eventually end up lost in this life or when we die. The treasure of knowing that Jesus gave his life for us, that we have forgiveness for our sins and the gift of an eternal heavenly home are blessings that we will be able to carry with us into eternity!
