Chakradance: open to your creativity and self-expression

Creativity, be it through dance, art, language or music, gives expression to our inner discoveries.  We can develop our creative self through awakening the throat chakra.

As we open and heal the throat chakra, we actively begin to speak in a way that creates a more harmonious life. 

We open up to authentic self-expression and we become more attentive to our own truths, as well as the truths of others.

The throat chakra, more than any other, governs our relationship with vibrations and resonance.  We can resonate with the vibrations of music, people, ideas, environments or even the universe.

When we find this resonance, a sense of harmony and rhythm is experienced.  When not in resonance, we sense a feeling of discord.  We may feel that we do not fit in or belong.

Chakradance is a powerful and authentic movement therapy practice to promote that wonderful state of calm vitality known as wellbeing.

Practising Chakradance can help tune and balance your whole body/mind/spirit system using spontaneous dance, guided imagery and music that resonates deeply with each in turn of the seven major chakras.

Journeying is a series of 7 monthly workshops (one for each chakra). Each workshop runs for 2 hours.

Through a series of 7 workshops - 1 for each chakra - you'll learn how to:

• Reconnect with the wisdom of your body and trust your own instincts.
• Re-ignite your passion, by embracing your sacred feminine energy.
• Reclaim your personal power, by embodying your sacred masculine energy.
• Release the hurts you hold in your heart, and open up to forgiveness, compassion and love.
• Rediscover your creative expression, and find your authentic voice.
• Reawaken your intuition and imagination and gain heightened insight into your life.
• Remember your spiritual connection and find a sense of sacredness in your life.

Dance by dance, you'll begin to:

• Release blocked emotional energy that's been holding you back in your life.
• Re-tune and re-balance your chakras, restoring your whole energy system to a healthier state of vibrancy and balance.
• Let go of what no longer serves you, and awaken strengths that have been lying dormant within you. Slowly but surely, you'll start to feel more fully yourself again.

Each workshop begins with an opening meditation, then a warm-up dance which is more dynamic in feel, a mini dance through all 7 chakras, then a meditation leading into each specific chakra, a longer dance journey, mandala art, and finally a closing meditation.
