In Partnership with Toledo Opera: A Companion Program & LocalEyes tour at the Toledo Museum of Art inspired by Carmen
Two tours are offered on Saturday, October 4th
1:30 p.m.–2:30 p.m. & 2:45 p.m.–3:45 p.m.
Meet in Herrick Lobby at TMA
Join us for LocalEyes, a tour that invites Toledoans to share the works of art in TMA’s collection that have inspired them. This unique experience allows artists, professors, musicians, and other community members to share with the public the museum’s impact on them.
Each LocalEyes tour pairs a TMA Docent with a featured guest, who co-curates the tour, offering personal insights and stories behind the works that resonate with them.
Join Dr. Eftychia Papanikolaou, Associate Professor of Musicology at BGSU and lecturer for Toledo Opera, on a tour through the galleries as they discuss artwork in the museum’s collection that has particular associations with Carmen by Georges Bizet. Whether focusing on themes of love, conflict, fate, independence, or character archetypes, this tour provides a versatile lens for interpreting artworks across different periods and media.
Free and open to adult audiences. Registration is required to reserve your spot.
