Additional information

  • This pass is for you if you are a non-Japanese passport holder with a temporary visiting visa and permanently reside outside Japan for over 6 months.

  • Please ensure that you receive a stamp or seal from airport staff indicating that you are a 'temporary visitor'. Ensure that you approach personnel if entering via an automated gate to receive the stamp/certificate.

  • Children aged 12 and over are considered as adults. An Adult or Child pass holder can support up to 2 infants, aged 5 and under for free. Additional charges will apply for more infants.

  • A rail pass will not be reissued even if lost or stolen.

  • Unused tickets can be fully refunded during the validity.

  • Specify a fixed date while redeeming the voucher for physical tickets.

  • The starting date on the rail pass and the duration cannot be changed after purchase.

  • Some JR trains offer reserved seating although you might have to purchase a separate express ticket to reserve the seats.

  • No express ticket is required for reservations on Rapid Services and local trains on JR-West Conventional Lines.
