A Christmas Carol; A Radio Play on Stage at An Tobar
Raise a glass to the season and join us for the final performance of the year as No Nonsense Productions return with A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play on Stage. Before the show begins, we invite you to gather in the foyer for mince pies and mulled wine, the perfect way to warm up before the show.
Following thirteen years of radio plays including: ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ (‘A perfectly formed triumph’ Tempohouse; ‘A terrific indulgence’ Love Books Group), ‘Para Handy’, ‘Dracula’, ‘Frankenstein’ and ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’ No Nonsense Productions return with ‘A Christmas Carol; A Radio Play on Stage’. Dickens’ masterpiece is brought to the stage as a 1950s radio broadcast in front of a studio audience. Four actors play 1950s radio actors who in turn portray all the characters of ‘A Christmas Carol’. Featuring live sound effects and an original score this is a rare opportunity to see how 1950s radio broadcasts were produced.
‘A terrific indulgence’ Love Books Group (on ‘It’s a Wonderful Life; A Radio Play on Stage.’)
‘A delightful 45 minutes of excellent Fringe entertainment’. Irene Brown, Edinburgh Guide. (On Para Handy; A Radio Play on Stage)
