Protean Movement : Contemporary Dance Class

Darvejon's Protean Movement is a soulful contemporary dance class at the crossroads of traditional Black diasporan dance and contemporary dance intentionally activated as a mode of liberation. Darvejon welcomes those returning to dance, and those working professionals, to explore his class and technique thoughtfully, anatomically, and playfully. The class begins with a thorough warm-up, then progresses through center and across-the-floor exercises, and phrase work. In each class, we will move beyond steps to investigate rhythm, weight, and spirit, all set against a musical mix that inspires creativity and freedom. The practitioner should bring an open mind, a willingness to activate the unseen, a towel, and a water bottle.
