Lowen and his family have gone through a very traumatic time the last few months. After 4 hospital visits and being sent home each time and being told there was nothing wrong. Lowen’s mum went with her gut and her mums advice and kept pushing . It was very clear something was not right. After becoming suddenly very unwell Lowen was admitted to hospital at the beginning of June . He was later diagnosed with Encephalitis ( A type of meningitis inside the brain) Alongside Ramsey hunt syndrome , bells palsy and raised Intracranial pressure in the brain.
This was a very worrying time for them all. Being told their 6 year old son has a life threatening condition with no idea what the future held was horrendous . They had no idea what effects this would have long term on his brain and still don’t now . After a lengthy stay in hospital with lots of tests and treatments he was sent home for recovery. The recovery has not been easy with weekly blood tests and hospital appointments . The hospital has become lowen’s second home . Each week they have been faced with curve balls, unexpected blood results and low bloods due to lowens body not responding to the medication well. This has made recovery a lot longer and harder for them all.
Lowen has been such a brave little fighter throughout and his mum and dad and family are so so incredibly proud of him . They have been very lucky to receive such amazing kindness from others thats helped them financially and physically through the tough time.
However the money raised from this event is for Lowen himself. Its going to go towards creating a gamer room for Lowen something he deserves after what he has been through. Something he has wanted for a long time. A special treat to make him smile and a place he can go to chill and do something he enjoys.
The family cannot thank everyone enough for taking part in this event today and raising this money for their special boy.
