Bushcraft Workshop for 8-12year olds

In this Bushcraft Workshop children will explore basic whittling skills. We’ll be looking at how to select good wood for carving and the tools we need to begin our project, as well as knife safety and the best types of cut to use. Along the way we’ll look at the properties of different kinds of wood and we’ll bring in some other bushcraft skills such as fire making and knotwork. Tools will be provided.

If it’s raining we have shelter options, but also in Bushcraft we learn to enjoy the elements and find ways to keep dry and warm. This workshop is a great way for 8-12 year olds to spend time outdoors, learn new skills and make new friends during the school half term.
