Canoe Flatwater Introductory Lesson

We will teach you the basic skills of how to get in and out of the boat safely on shore, go straight, turn, backup and stop on flatwater such as the Tualatin River. You will have time to practice these skills. This class is appropriate for individuals and partners. Individuals will be paired up with other registrants or the instructor, so each canoe is paddled by 2 people. Class includes boat, paddle, and life jacket.

WHAT TO KNOW:

Meet us at Tigard's Cook Park Boat Ramp. ­­Make sure that you're wearing appropriate clothes, including shoes that can get wet, sun hats, sunglasses, and bringing along a water-resistant jacket in case it gets cold or rainy. Bring along snacks, water, and sunscreen, but leave all valuables at home.
