Greg Parnell Presents The Songbook of the Dave Pell Octet

Greg has performed with The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, The Les Brown Orchestra and The Nelson Riddle Orchestra. He has also backed headliners such as The Mills Brothers, Kay Starr, John Davidson, Eartha Kitt, Bowzer, Della Reese, Jack Jones, The Four Freshmen, Rita Moreno, Petula Clark and many others.

Dave Pell played on Bob Crosby's radio show in 1946 and became a member of Les Brown's band from 1947 to 1955. In 1953, he formed a “Cool Jazz” octet with Pell on saxophone and an all-star ensemble. The group recorded 5 albums from 1956 to 1962. Come for an evening of great cool jazz.

This Jazz Lovers’ Club event is for residents of The Villages and guests with a visitor pass. Doors open at 5:30pm. We have seating with tables and chairs, and you may bring your own beverage and snacks. Admission is $15 for member or $20 for non-members. Annual dues to become a member is only $10.
