Developed from the artists own studio practice, the Deconstruction Drawing Method engages the use of a variety of mediums including charcoal, graphite, pen and ink, and collage.
The method requires participants to embrace the discipline of objective drawing methods as well as more experimental based responses.
Through the study of a single object participants will engage in a series of drawings initiated through the use of careful observational drawing skills that progressively incorporate more intuitive and imaginative responses.
Each drawing response often engages a mix of different mediums and works towards participants recognising an essential detail or element in the object that they find interesting.
In practice the Deconstruction Method allows for a fluid and open-ended approach to drawing where there is no one correct outcome as each participant’s enquiry and exploration of the object becomes their personal and individual response.
