Neil Diamond: Singer, Songwriter (A Concert Lecture)

Neil Diamond continues to endure in the world of pop music as a solo artist. This program focuses on his legendary career as a singer and songwriter highlighting more than 45 years of struggles and successes. Diamond has sold over 125 million records worldwide and has performed in front of millions of concertgoers. This Brooklyn Baritone has had 10 number one hit singles over the years and is considered the third most successful adult contemporary artist on the Billboard chart.

Phil will discuss Diamond's early career to present day while performing such sons as "Sweet Caroline," "Hello Again," "Cracklin Rose," "September Morn," and many more.

About the performer: Phil Bruschi has had a long career in the entertainment business, and it started at age nine when he first studied percussion as a drummer. Over the years, Phil has played all types of music from jazz to rock, and more. He was in that small percentage of drummers who sang lead as well as backup vocals.
Phil's love for singing continued even after stepping out in front of the drums to focus more on his voice in recent years. Phil has sung in Doo Wop groups, numerous bands, duos and finally as a soloist. His love for Sinatra's music and the Great American Songbook started when he was a teenager. Phil has been singing the songs of Cole Porter, the Gershwins, and Johnny Mercer, just to mention a few composers.
