Heartfelt Sewing: Beginner Machine Basics

Join us at Musgrove + Co in Tecumseh for a cozy Valentine’s-themed sewing night, where you’ll learn the basics of using a sewing machine and create two heart-shaped bookmarks—perfect for gifting to someone you love (or keeping for yourself).

Led by Mary Tommelein, this beginner-friendly class starts with sewing machine fundamentals, including safe use, threading, and simple stitching. Instruction will meet you right where you are, whether you’re brand new to sewing or just need a refresher. Practice sheets and machine handouts will be provided before we move into stitching our heart bookmarks.

Three sewing machines will be available, but bringing your own machine is highly encouraged so you can practice with what you have at home. Feel free to bring along thread, empty bobbins, or any tools you’d like help learning to use.
