Before the Calm is an instrumental power trio comprising multiple Grammy winning performers and composers whose works have been performed from the underground clubs of Buffalo and the NYC metro area to the eminent spaces of Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. Exploring the boundaries of progressive rock, heavy metal and jazz-rock fusion, Matthew Halper (guitar), Jim Kerswell (bass), and John Kerswell (drums), bring together a wide-ranging set of artistic skills and interests with their fiery, eclectic music.

Lyra constellation sends ALIENS, an instrumental duo, warping familiar Earth rock, jazz, and electronica into something beautifully strange.
