Te Puke is growing, and we need infrastructure that can grow with us. That’s why we’re building a brand-new wastewater treatment plant to support our town’s future.
This new facility will replace and significantly upgrade the current plant on Gordon Street. It’s designed to meet higher environmental standards, build resilience, and protect the long-term health of our community and environment.
Join us at our community info session to learn how this project will help futureproof Te Puke, including:
🌊 Treating wastewater to a much cleaner standard to better protect local waterways
🏘️ Providing capacity for an additional 3,000 people as our town continues to grow
🏭 Supporting new businesses and industries, including the future Rangiuru Business Park
🛠️ Ensuring our wastewater network meets modern seismic and consent requirements
Why do we need a new plant?
• The existing plant no longer meets updated discharge and seismic standards
• Our growing community means more homes, businesses, and wastewater to manage
• New technology allows us to treat wastewater to a much higher quality – better for our streams and environment
Come along and find out what this upgrade means for Te Puke’s future.
