Te Ranga School's Possum and Pest Hunt 2025!

Save the Date – The Te Ranga School Possum and Pest Hunt is Back!

Hunters and community, get ready! The Te Ranga School Possum and Pest Hunt is returning in 2025, and after the incredible success of last year’s event, we know this will be another fantastic weekend for the whole community.

Since 1998, this hunt has been a key part of Te Puke’s efforts to protect our environment, and last year’s turnout showed just how committed we are to making a difference, with over 1500 pests eradicated from the area! This year, we’re aiming even higher—every dollar raised will go towards an exciting new playground for our school!

From Thursday, June 5th to Sunday, June 8th, teams will take on the challenge of tracking and removing pests, helping us work towards a predator-free future for New Zealand. Possums, pigs, rats, stoats, and even wallabies—let’s do our part for conservation!

Then, on Sunday, June 8th, join us at Te Ranga School for the final weigh-in, prize giving, and a massive community gala. Expect all the favourites:
🎯 Toss the Poss (no possums harmed!)
🏃‍♂️ Killer Hill races
🎨 Colouring contests, arts & crafts, face painting, and more!
🍔 Delicious food and drinks to keep you fuelled
🎟️ And, of course, a legendary raffle
