About This Event
The hot acoustic swing of ‘The Gina Griffin Quartet’ captures the vibrant sound of 1930’s Paris. Their performance gives a rich and nostalgic experience, which includes Eastern European influences without ever losing the gypsy footprint of guitarist Django Reinhardt and the violin of Stephane Grappelli.

About the Quartet
Violinist, Gina Griffen, is well known on the Bristol music scene. She has worked as a professional musician for over twenty years and is best known for her amazing improvisational violin/singing style and performances with the Bristol band The Schmoozenbergs.
Bass player, Ron Phelan, originally from Dublin is in constant demand from the best musicians and performers touring the country. Together with Gina they provided backing music for the touring ‘No Fit State Circus’.
The brilliant gypsy jazz guitarist David Jones (gtr) learned piano from the age of 6, guitar from 11, has been lead guitarist in successful rock bands, works extensively in musical theatre, and teaches in schools and at the Exeter Academy of Music & Sound. Having discovered gypsy jazz as a teenager he focused on this style to become one of the UK’s leading players. He has performed alongside the likes of Lollo Meier and Bertrand Le Guillou, featured at festivals such as March Manouche and is endorsed by JWC Guitars.
Rhythm guitarist, Dave Lunniss, possesses a vast knowledge of gypsy jazz. His festival performances in the UK, Ireland, Silkeborg, Denmark together with appearances in The Savoy Hotel with ‘Le Jazz’ and at London’s Barbican, with ‘Swing 39’.
