Learning about forgotten soap facts
As the soap is cooking, I will be talking about soap history, including the oldest soap known to humanity, a soap that Nefretiti used – I will bring a bar of it to show you! I will be talking about various techniques of soap making, what true soap is (in layman’s terms), how to recognize a good soap (good meaning quality, non-harmful ingredients), etc.
But most of all, we will have fun with the process, because soap making is fun and therapeutic!
About me:
My name is Ginger. I have been making soap for the last 10 years. The journey had taken me to open a store front called SoapBox. SoapBox has originated in Philadelphia in 2013, where we won the prestigious Best of Philly award TWICE. Now, we call Tarpon Springs, FL our home and this is where the products are created by hand for you. I make soaps, skin care products, and cleaning supplies. 100% ingredients come from nature: oils, fats, butters, flowers, herbs, spices, salts, clays, seeds & essential oils. I am self-taught, I do not have any background in chemistry.
I am a firm believer in using less: less is more, especially if it comes to skin. Most importantly, I am a mom, an older mom – my daughter is the main reason I try to live healthily, so I can be here for her for years to come.
