Would you like to hack a radio to make it a 〰️synthesizer〰️? Or maybe learn some basics of soldering and coding to make sound with a 𖥔microprocessor𖥔? Perhaps you have an idea for an ϟinstrument of the futureϟ. If the answer is yes, join us and we’ll find out how to make alien music out of it!
In this workshop, each participant will have the opportunity to create a basic “circuit bending” project. Main aim of the class is to show how it’s possible to craft electronic instruments with minimal financial investment and without extensive technical expertise. We will provide radio kits, which we will then hack to create surprising sounds. In the process, you will learn skills of upcycling an old radio and some old audio electronics and turn them into a music instrument. First we will practice the basics of soldering, then quickly get acquainted with potentiometers and photoresistances! All necessary tools will be provided.
