Taiwan is changing — and so are the stories of the people who call it home. From migrant workers and international residents, to foreign spouses, mixed-heritage families, and Indigenous communities, Taiwan’s identity is becoming richer and more complex than ever before.
In this month’s Community Convos, we’re opening up a thoughtful, honest, and community-centered discussion about what multiculturalism really looks like on the ground in Taiwan. How do we navigate belonging, identity, culture, and language in a society that’s rapidly evolving? What challenges do newcomers and long-term residents face? And how can we build bridges that strengthen understanding and inclusion?
We’ll also explore the impact of Taiwan’s "2030 Bilingual Nation" initiative — how language, education, and policy shape the multicultural experience, and what this shift means for local and international communities alike.

Community Convos: Who Are We?
Community Convos is the space for safe, meaningful discussions about topics you may be reluctant to discuss. This is an environment that fosters understanding before judgement, listening before speaking, compassion over conflict, and connection alongside community. We all have an opinion, a point of view, and a voice, and everyone should have the space and opportunity to engage with others in a respectful manner. We will not always agree on each topic but we will learn to communicate and interact with care and compassion.
We are back for VOLUME 5 with new and engaging topics! It's time to reengage and reconnect because the world keeps getting divisive, mental, and wild out there. This community is here for you, here to discuss, and here to build.
