H.O.P.E. - Dust Bowl Dreamers

Step back in time to the Dust Bowl days and discover what life was like for families during one of America’s toughest eras. In this interactive class, kids will explore pioneer-style skills, learn how people made do with very little, and even try some Depression-era cooking—complete with figuring out the mystery ingredient and a taste test! We’ll also look at items from that era, and see if out how they were used can be discovered. Kids will gain an appreciation for the grit, creativity, and determination that helped families survive the Dust Bowl years.
All ages welcome. One guardian must attend and step in as needed, as the antiques are on loan from the Oklahoma Historical Society and other kind folks. Sign up in the comments of this event with number and ages of children.
