Stacey Reid, PhD, LMHC, is a mental health counselor, sound healing practitioner, and researcher devoted to exploring the intersection of psychology, mindfulness, and sound.
Through her Courageous Heart Wellness offerings, she helps people soften patterns of self-judgment and reconnect with their inner wisdom. Both her work and research center on cultivating self-compassion and presence as pathways toward self-acceptance and emotional wellbeing.
As the year winds down and the holiday season approaches, many of us find ourselves stretched thin—giving generously to others while neglecting the tender care we need ourselves.
This 3-part series is an invitation to pause, soften, and learn how to extend the same compassion inward that you so readily offer outward.
Over three Sunday afternoons, we’ll gather in a warm, restorative space to release the weight of self-criticism, root into your worth, and carry forward a deeper sense of grace into the season ahead.
You’ll be invited to explore where self-criticism shows up in your life and what it might feel like to meet yourself with compassion instead.
Gentle journaling prompts and reflection time will help you connect more deeply with your own experience. We’ll come together in a supportive circle to share insights, normalize common struggles, and reflect on what it means to show up for ourselves with presence and care.
You’ll learn simple, evidence-based techniques for cultivating self-kindness, including:·
The R.A.I.N. Method — a mindfulness practice for meeting difficult emotions with curiosity and care.·
Loving-Kindness (Metta) Meditation — offering warmth and compassion to yourself through guided phrases.·
Soothing Touch & Self-Compassion Breaks — gentle, embodied ways to comfort yourself in moments of stress.
We will close each session will close with a deeply grounding sound bath to help you integrate the day’s reflections, release tension, and rest into a sense of inner peace.
Each session builds upon the last, inviting you into a kinder, steadier relationship with yourself—one that can carry you into the holidays and beyond with greater presence, resilience, and ease.
All you'll need to bring is a pen, journal, and an open mind. You'll leave with tools, insight, and a softer way to be with yourself.

Session One: The Kindness You Were Never Taught
The focus of this session is to deepen your understanding of what self-kindness is and what it isn’t. You’ll learn how to begin replacing self-judgment with warmth and support, softening the voice of your inner critic.
Session Two: You’re Not Alone in This
The focus of this session is on reclaiming connection to yourself (and others) by understanding that imperfection and pain are universal experiences – not personal flaws.
Session Three: Meeting the Moment with Grace
The focus of this session is on cultivating presence and the courage to respond to difficult moments with grace, instead of judgment or avoidance.
