Imagination in Motion: An Exercise In Art Therapy

In this class artist and art therapy intern April Markley will lead you through a visualization designed to spark your imagination, followed by response art based on your unique inner vision. This class is meant to help build your imaginative muscle and inspire creativity, and dialogue with your imagination.


Participants will take an image-based journey via guided visualization led by artist and art therapy intern April. This workshop is designed to offer a practical tool for artists to create from their inner vision and is less skills-based and more about facilitating your unique artistic expression, which is an important skill that can be developed in its own way!

While some basic art supplies will be provided, you are encouraged to bring materials that inspire you, or are meaningful to you as well, if you already have some you enjoy working with. No prior skill is needed and the expressive nature of the class will focus on your creative impulse and intuition.


This class may be especially beneficial for those who experience creative block, or struggle to find new ways to infuse personal meaning/imagination into their works. There will be an option to discuss and share the experience afterwards, but this is not a requirement.
