The Italian Cultural Institute warmly invites students, members and supporters to its festive 2025 closing event.
Join us for an evening of celebration, as the new Director Marco Gioacchini recaps the highlights of the year and offers a sneak peek into the exciting events planned for 2026. Savour delicious Italian food and wines in a charming Christmas atmosphere.
This year’s entertainment promises to be truly special, featuring the incredible quartet formed by the tango dance duo Anna Griffiths and her partner Mo Ibrahim, piano with Maestro Mauro Colombis and cello player Maestro Massimo Bertucci.
Anna Griffiths is an Australian tango dancer and the Education Operations and Artist Manager at Musica Viva Australia. She combines her passion for movement and music, promoting artistic expression both on the dance floor and through her work bringing live music to schools and communities across the country.
Mo Ibrahim has been a tango dancer and DJ since 2010. Founder and lead instructor of the Sydney Tango Collective, he has studied with renowned international masters and performs at festivals in Australia and abroad. Passionate about music and connection on the dance floor, he shares his experience to help build a vibrant and thriving tango community.
Maestro Mauro Colombis is an Italian-born pianist based in Sydney, celebrated for his expressive performances and teaching. Trained at the Moscow Tchaikovsky and Venice Benedetto Marcello Conservatories, he specialises in live piano accompaniment for silent films and brings classical artistry, improvisation, and a passion for storytelling to concert stages and classrooms across Australia.
Maestro Massimo Bertucci is an Italian cellist from a musical family, who began studying the cello with his father, a pupil of Rocco Filippini and Alain Meunier. He has performed with ensembles such as the Solisti de La Scala and Teatro San Carlo, studied with Tanja Tetzlaff, and attended masterclasses with renowned cellists including Steven Isserlis. He has also served as principal cellist under conductors like Riccardo Muti and Antonio Pappano, shaping his artistry and orchestral sensibility.
The evening will close with an exciting raffle, where guests can win fabulous prizes generously donated by our sponsors.
