The Grief Opera is a deeply moving musical exploration of loss, love, and the quiet persistence of grief. Inspired by personal tragedy, it gives voice to the silence surrounding suicide – the leading cause of death among young men – and aims to bring healing through music and conversation.
Blending classical, jazz, opera, and musical theatre, this original work follows a father’s final moments with his son, the heartbreak of sudden loss, and the long road of living with grief. The performance features powerful vocals, spoken word, and an ensemble of gifted musicians.
✨ Written by Nigel Linacre, in memory of his son, and composed by Vladimir Miller, this performance hopes to offer solace and spark life-saving conversations about mental health.
