Live at The Tuppenny: Blake + Shed

Blake is the solo brainchild of Julian Pugsley, a musical magpie who pinches the shiniest bits from across the pop spectrum and fashions them into something slyly familiar yet gloriously unpredictable. Think Beatles-esque ’60s melody colliding with psych-flecked pop rock, detouring through indie folk and indie-pop, and somehow landing perfectly on its feet every time.

Support comes from THUD guitar-wielder Shed, serving up a more roots-soaked, R&B-leaning groove with a real swing in its step.

If solo artists who blend the fresh with the familiar, the infectious with the dexterous, and the muscular with the melodic float your boat, then congratulations — you’ve just found where you need to be.

As always, the gig is free entry but any change for the artists tip jar is greatly appraciated.
